CLEANSE GUIDE & PROTOCOL

PRE-CLEANSE

Mindset:
Set an intention for your Cleanse. An intention is a commitment to changing a part of your life and begin a more healthful way of eating.

Diet:
Holding to a healthy light diet starting 3 days before your Cleanse will ease the hunger cravings during the cleanse itself. Eat only fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and eggs. To keep your body functioning properly and cells hydrated, be sure to drink plenty of water before your Cleanse.

Water Intake
Water (in litres) to drink a day = Your Weight (in Kg) multiplied by 0.033. For example, if you are 60kg, you should drink about 2 litres of water every single day.

No Coffee or Stimulants
Avoid any extra pressure or discomfort by stopping coffee a week before you start your Cleanse. It’ll help by lessening withdrawal symptoms and any cravings while you cleanse. For best results while cleansing, we want to bring your body into a more alkaline state.

Time:
For an optimal cleansing experience, make sure you have the free time to reflect and rest. Do not do juice cleanses during an emotionally intense time or during a major life transition. Set yourself up for success: ask your friends and family to support you or even to do a Cleanse with you!

Sleep:
You may find that your quality of sleep improves during our Cleanse as you won’t be experiencing the consistent digestion of heavy foods throughout the night. Overall, a deeper sleep can encourage internal repair and restoration as well as deeper healing.

CLEANSE

Emotion & Mindfulness:
Stress can have negative effects on health and may impair detoxification. Allow the mind to rest by incorporating mind and body practices such as diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, or mindfulness meditation. Try to get plenty of rest, go to bed as early as you can and take naps if possible.

Lemon Warm Water & Herbal Tea:
Warm water with lemon first thing in the morning is thought to improve digestion, boost metabolism and help in maintaining the Ph balance of the body. Lemon Warm Water is a ritual that we encourage you to keep Pre-Cleanse, Cleanse and Post-Cleanse for great health. We include fresh lemons for your cleanse!
Herbal Teas come packed with antioxidants and nutrients that serve many purposes. Some herbal tea benefits may include reduced inflammation, better immune system function, improved brain function and more. Herbal Tea can be purchased in addition with your Cleanse for an optimal cleansing experience.

Herbal Tea:

  • Chamomile: Chamomile is an herb that comes from the daisy-like flowers of the Asteraceae plant family. Chamomile tea may protect against diarrhea, stomach ulcers, nausea and gas, likely due to its anti-inflammatory effects. Chamomile contains antioxidants that may promote relaxation, and drinking chamomile tea has been shown to improve overall sleep quality.
  • Ginger: Ginger is native to Asia and is the flowering plant of the Zingiberaceae family. Ginger tea may also help alleviate headaches, menstrual cramps, sore muscles, and other types of pain like motion sickness.
  • Green: The tea plant, Camellia sinensis, is a member of the Theaceae family, and green tea are produced from its leaves. It’s loaded with antioxidants that have many health benefits such as improved brain function, fat loss, and lowering the risk of heart disease. Green tea contains natural caffeine that may boost metabolic rate and energy in the short term.
  • Rosemary: The rosemary bush, Rosmarinus officinalis is native to South America and the Mediterranean region. It’s part of the Lamiaceae family of plants. Rosemary tea contains compounds shown to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects. It contains compounds that may help lower high blood sugar levels by exerting insulin-like effects and boosting the absorption of glucose into muscle cells.
  • Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus is an evergreen tree native to Australia that is widely used for its medicinal properties. Eucalyptus tea is high in antioxidants containing a compound called eucalyptol, which has been found to decrease nasal congestion, cough frequency, and cold-related headaches. It may also improve asthma symptoms. It’s believed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation.

Exercise:
Limit yourself to light exercise, such as walks, yoga, and stretching. Your energy levels will change when you’re on the Cleanse, so pay attention to what your body needs before exercising.

Activities:
Avoid places with loud noise and a lot of activity; you might be more sensitive than usual during your Cleanse. Make sure you have a lot of free time to take care of yourself.

POST-CLEANSE

Mindset:
Reflect on how you feel immediately after cleansing, what you learned and what you want to keep in mind as you move back into eating solid foods.

Diet:
As you integrate solid food back into your diet, please be mindful that your digestive system has been in a state of complete rest. Return gradually to eating solid foods after your Cleanse. During the three days after completing your juice cleanse, follow a diet similar to the Pre-Cleanse: Diet. You can eat fruits and vegetables the first day after your juice cleanse. On the second day, add brown rice, eggs and yoghurt. Starting at 5-6 days, begin to add chicken, fish or meat to your diet. Use your Cleanse experience to create new healthy eating habits!

Activities:
Don’t jump into anything strenuous or exhausting right after your Cleanse. Continue to take time to relax and integrate your Cleanse experience back into your life.

Monitor How You Feel:
In the days following your Cleanse, you have a unique opportunity to identify potential food allergens or sensitivities.
If you suspect that you may have a sensitivity to wheat, dairy, nuts, soy or anything else, systematically add these foods back into your diet one at a time. By only adding one of these items back in your diet at a time, you will be able to identify if any of these foods are a trigger for you.

Progress your health and nutrition with our Juice Cleanse?
Our Cleanse can provide a short-term boost for starting a new healthy eating program or a quick reset after a few days of indulging, but it is not recommended as a long-term weight loss program.
Throughout our Cleanse you consume a low-calorie diet, your body will have to use up glycogen stores for energy instead of being able to get energy from solid food. When you use up glycogen, you lose the water weight with it and may achieve weight-loss. It is important to understand that this weight loss is a combination of releasing fluids, glycogen stores and internal waste, in addition to body fat. The excitement is temporary, you’ll gain that water weight back if you return to your normal diet. At completion of our Cleanse, this gives you the opportunity to take advantage of the temporary weight-loss, incorporate a balanced nutritious meal plan for sustained weight-loss and kick-start a more healthful way of eating.

If weight-loss is the goal, a Calorie Deficit Weight-Loss Program is an effective and proven method – A calorie deficit occurs when you consume fewer calories than your body expends.

Our Cleanse eliminates dairy, wheat, gluten, and fermented foods from your diet. You can gain a new perspective on whether any of these foods don’t agree with your body. Eventually, reintroducing them can help define which foods are causing problems for your body.
